Costco made a BIG membership announcement this week on Instagram.

There are few things worse than loading up the conveyor belt at the Costco register with all your favorite bulk items just to realize you have no idea where your pesky membership card is. Just me? Didn’t think so.

You can finally forget dumping out the contents of your purse in the checkout line or the “walk of shame” to Costco’s customer service desk, because Costco is now offering digital membership cards!

All you have to do is download the Costco app, log in to your Costco.com account, verify your membership, and voila! The Costco app now comes with a digital Costco card with a specialized QR code to scan every time you check out.

Loyal Costco shoppers had a whole bunch of questions regarding these new digital membership cards via Instagram yesterday. We discovered Costco members are able to use this digital membership card to make purchases, but are not able to use them at Costco gas stations quite yet.
