Is there anything Ina Garten can’t do?

On Thursday the Barefoot Contessa reminded us yet again that she’s so much more than a good cook. Garten, as it turns out, is also quite the whiz when it comes to flower arrangements.

According to a pre-Father’s Day Instagram post from the entertaining maven, it’s better to combine many colors of the same flower than it is to mix different blooms.

Case in point: the photo of a beautiful bunch of blue hydrangeas she shared.

“Mixed bouquets are sometimes hard to get just right so instead, I often choose one kind of flower but in lots of different colors,” she revealed in the caption.

But that’s not her only trick.

“My secret is to follow the rule of odd numbers: three or five of each color always looks best. (I can’t explain it, but it really works!),” she continued. “A big bouquet of fresh flowers is an easy and stylish way to celebrate all of the dads in your life! Happy Father’s Day!”

Oh Ina, what would we do without you?
