This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Russian River Valley appellation. Dutton Ranch fa...rms over sixty unique, separate vineyards located in the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, primarily in the Green Valley sub-appellation, and our Dutton Ranch blend represents our vision for the character of this special region. Galante and Silva vineyards, both on the thin-soiled east-facing slopes of Cherry Ridge, provide creamy blackberry fruit character and depth of tannins. Emerald Ridge is perched on a knoll in the middle of Green Valley, and from it we ferment 4 separate clonal blocks which contribute wonderful black cherry focus, dark fruit concentration and structure. And our Morelli Lane block, on the western edge of the appellation, is planted to the old Swan clone which is prized for its floral aromatics and wonderful texture.. read more
This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Green Valley appellation. In 1969 Warren Dutton p...lanted this scenic Chardonnay vineyard on a redwood ringed, east-facing hillside west of the town of Graton. Originally budded as Old Wente selection, it turns out that over half of the wood he received was a so called chardonnay musque' selection, which produces wines of quite floral, high-toned fruit aromas, and exceptionally rich mouthfeel. The selection has since been propagated across California and is referred to as the Rued Clone.' This dry farmed vineyard's old vines produce clusters with tiny golden translucent berries, solid acidity, and a wonderfully enticing depth of flavors. CHARDONNAY Wine California Still Wine read more
This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Green Valley appellation. Dutton Ranch farms over... eighty unique, separate vineyards located in the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, primarily in the Green Valley appellation. Dan and Steve select their favorite Dutton Ranch vineyards to craft a wine reflecting our vision of classic Russian River Valley Chardonnay. The vineyards we choose are based on our desire to offer wines with fruit intensity, richness and great acid structure, even after full barrel and malolactic fermentation. Mill Station, Rued, and Walker Hill are all old vine (greater than 30 years), old clone vineyards located in the cold heart of Green Valley. They provide the beautiful citrus backbone, spicy floral nose, and tropical and mineral overtones of this offering. Morelli Lane Vineyard, planted to the Hyde clone of Chardonnay, is located high on top of Stoetz Ridge and contributes notes of floral stone fruit to the wine. The cold valley location of JJJS, planted near the old Dutton shop for Dan during his Hartford Court days, combined with its chosen Dutton field selections, provides an unctuous pear fruit to further enhance this offering. read more
