How to Make Ramen Noodle Salad
If you want crunch in your ramen noodle salad, you'll need to wait for the right moment to add your noodles. This is sure to be a potluck go-to.
Roman noodle salad is a fast food favorite that couldn't be simpler to make. There is one trick though. Don't add the noodles or the almonds until you're ready to serve the salad. That's because they'll lose their crunch as the salad marinates in the fridge. Instead, combine the vegetables with the dressing, toss the coat and chill for up to 4 hours. Chilling the dressed salad really intensifies its flavor so don't skip this step. Even 30 minutes will do. Then, just before serving, add the almonds and noodles and toss to combine and, if you're really crazy about crunch, save a couple of cups of cabbage to add just before serving as well. And if you're packing the salad for a picnic, package the almonds and noodles in a separate container so you can add them at the last minute for maximum crunch.
