You better get out the rolling pin, cinnamon, and pie pan soon; Fall baking season is almost here!

But before the first bake sale arrives, we found a genius kitchen hack that will be one of your main baking ingredients.

This hack, from The Domestic Geek, prevents brown sugar from clumping over time. And all you need is one thing: a large marshmallow! (We know you already have a package of these heavenly treats in your pantry for bonfire s'mores.)

The trick is really simple—pop one marshmallow into your brown sugar. That's it!

The marshmallow will be able to regulate the moisture in the container so that brown sugar doesn't dry out. This is some real-life magic.

However, if your baking supplies have been sitting on the top shelf all summer, your brown sugar might already be hard. Lucky for us, The Domestic Geek also has a quick fix to save the sugar!

Heat the oven to 300 degrees and put the brown sugar in for five minutes. It will be fresh enough to bake no time!

Take a look at the video below for more instructions on how to save your brown sugar. Happy baking!

  1. I actually put my brown sugar in the microwave for a few minutes and it did the trick but don't be stupid like it was - take it out of the plastic bag and put it on a plate otherwise the bag melts.
