Selecting Fresh Vegetables

When you're in the grocery store staring at all of the produce, this is what you'll need to know.

Take a few minutes in the supermarket's produce section and inspect each vegetable before you buy. Look for plump, crisp, bright-colored vegetables that are heavy for their size (this indicates moistness). Avoid vegetables that are bruised, shriveled, moldy, or blemished.
