Browning Butter

In a small saucepan, heat butter over low heat until melted. Continue heating until butter turns a delicate light brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and use as desired.

For browned butter frosting, brown 3/4 cup butter using the method above. In a large mixing bowl, combine 6 cups powdered sugar, 4 tablespoons milk, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Add browned butter and beat with an electric mixer on low speed until combined. Beat on medium to high speed, adding additional milk if necessary, to reach spreading consistency.
