Homemade cinnamon rolls, cakes, and sugar cookies taste way better when frosted with homemade icing. Needing only three ingredients (you probably already have in your pantry) means making your own Powdered Sugar Icing is faster, easier, and tastier than store-bought icing.
Powdered Sugar Icing Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk or orange juice
In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Stir in additional milk or juice, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it reaches drizzling consistency. Makes 1/2 cup (enough to drizzle over one 10-inch tube cake).
CHOCOLATE POWDERED SUGAR ICING:
Prepare as above, except add 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder to the powdered sugar. Do not use the orange juice.
What to Frost:
Make these yummy recipes even yummier by drizzling them with homemade icing.
