Generously frost your cake with a spatula. Make sure level of frosting is even, and smooth top of cake well with a spatula.
Using a bench scraper, scrape along the side of the cake with an even motion, rotating the cake turner. Apply the same amount of pressure all the way around to reduce divots.
Once sides are smoothed, go over cake top once more with the spatula in long strokes. Once you're finished, proudly display it!
