They're the heart and soul of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Since the magazine's founding in the early 1920's, readers have been sharing their most cherished and creative recipes. The contest took its present form in 1937 and endures as one of the magazine's most popular features. Over the years hundreds of thousands of cooks have participated, sharing a wealth of talent, family heritage, and delicious food.
Each month two new contest categories are announced. Our food editors read through the hundreds of recipes submitted by readers and test the top recipes to choose a winner. Winners receive $500 and their recipes are photographed and featured in the magazine.
