  • Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Place bread shell on a baking sheet; set aside.

  • In a medium bowl combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, ground red pepper (if using) and 1/2 cup of the cheese blend. Spread atop the Italian bread shell; arrange peppers atop. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

  • Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Because chile peppers, such as jalapenos, contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes, wear plastic or rubber gloves when working with them. If your bare hands do touch the chile peppers, wash your hands well with soap and water.
