Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. In a medium saucepan cook and stir brown sugar and butter over medium heat until melted and smooth. Cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, to butter mixture, beating with a spoon until combined. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir in nuts, figs, and 3 ounces white chocolate chunks. Spread in prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan on a wire rack. If desired, drizzle with melted white chocolate. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
