Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a disposable foil 13 1/2 x 9 1/2-inch baking pan; set pan aside.
  2. In a large saucepan heat and stir butter and the 4 ounces chopped white chocolate over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Stir in eggs, one at a time; stir in granulated sugar, vanilla, and almond extract. Beat with a wooden spoon just until combined. Add flour, 1 cup of the cherries, the almonds, baking powder, and salt; stir until just combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with the 6 ounces chopped white chocolate and the remaining 1/2 cup dried cherries.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and just set in the center. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
