If using fresh onions, in a medium covered saucepan cook onions in a small amount of boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes or just until tender; drain in colander. Cool slightly; peel. (Or cook frozen onions according to package directions; drain in colander.)
In the same saucepan combine honey, vinegar, basil, and sage. Add onions. Cook and stir until onions are glazed and heated through. Makes 4 servings.
