• In a large saucepan cook onions, uncovered, in hot margarine or butter over low heat about 30 minutes or until onions are very soft and golden, stirring occasionally.

  • Meanwhile, place pita bread halves or tortillas on a baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree F oven about 15 minutes or until pita halves or tortillas are crisp and lightly browned.

  • In a blender container or food processor bowl combine the cottage cheese and blue or feta cheese. Cover and blend or process until smooth. Spread cottage cheese mixture over pita bread halves or tortillas. Top with onions and walnuts or pecans. Increase oven temperature to 450 degree F. Bake pizzas in the 450 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until heated through. Makes 2 servings.
