Homemade seasoning salt is a cinch to make at home. Simply combine skillet-toasted salt with black pepper and garlic powder. Dust this seasoned salt on popcorn, meat, or eggs for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup flaked sea salt

  • ½ cup coarse ground black pepper

  • ½ cup garlic powder

Directions

  1. In a large skillet cook salt over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool salt on a sheet of foil.

  2. In a medium bowl combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Store in an airtight container up to 3 months. Use to season meats before grilling or roasting, or combine with flour to coat chicken before frying.

Smoky Hot Seasoning:

Prepare as above, except add 2 tablespoons ground chipotle chile pepper to the salt mixture.
