We piled a lot on this picnic sandwich—ham, pepperoni, salami, pepperoncini peppers, and tomatoes, just to name a few. And while this sandwich is piled so high that it might test your jaw strength, it's also perfect for sharing at a potluck or picnic.

  • Cut bread in half horizontally. Using a spoon, hollow out inside of top half, leaving a 3/4-inch shell. Spread cut sides of top and bottom halves with dressing.

  • Layer bottom half of bread with ham, pepperoni, and salami. Add pepperoncini peppers and tomato slices; sprinkle tomatoes with black pepper. Top with lettuce and cheese. Replace top of bread; press lightly.

  • Tightly wrap sandwich in foil or plastic wrap to tote. Chill up to 24 hours. To serve, cut into portions and, if needed, insert toothpicks to hold together.
