Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Thoroughly dry garbanzo beans by rolling them gently on paper towels. In a medium bowl combine oil, garlic, sugar, and cayenne pepper. Add garbanzo beans; toss to coat. Spread in an even layer in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
Roast for 25 to 30 minutes or until garbanzo beans are golden brown, stirring once. Transfer to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with salt; stir to coat.
