Spicy Mezcal Pineapple Smoke Cocktail

Serrano peppers add some heat to this tropical cocktail recipe.

  • 1 - 2 slices serrano chile pepper

  • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste

  • Ice cubes

  • 4 fluid-ounce pineapple juice (1/2 cup), chilled

  • 1 fluid-ounce mezcal (2 Tbsp.)

  • 2 fluid-ounce mango-flavor sparkling water (1/4 cup), chilled

  • Fresh pineapple, fresh mango, and/or serrano chile (optional)


  1. In a Collins glass lightly muddle serrano slices and tamarind paste. Top with ice, pineapple juice, and mezcal; stir to combine and chill. Top with mango-flavor sparkling water and, if desired, garnish with pineapple, mango, and/or additional serrano.
