Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Fudgy Brownies OR purchased brownie mix

  • 1 recipe Creamy White Frosting, Chocolate Frosting, OR purchased frosting

  • cup white chocolate, melted

  • Assorted candies for decorating, such as licorice and candy-coated milk chocolate pieces.

Fudgy Brownies

  • ½ cup butter

  • 3 ounce unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda

Creamy White Frosting

  • 1 cup shortening

  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ teaspoon almond extract

  • 4 cup powdered sugar

  • 3 tablespoon milk

Chocolate Frosting

  • ¼ cup butter or margarine

  • 3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 tablespoon buttermilk

  • 2 ¼ cup sifted powdered sugar

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Bake brownies in a lined 13x9-inch pan; let cool.

  2. Frost the cake with Creamy White Frosting or Chocolate Frosting. Dye the frosting to change the color of the shirt.

  3. Create the collar and pocket with a darker shade of frosting, and use melted white chocolate to form the necktie. For a striped tie, use decorating gel icing or licorice. Add candy-coated milk chocolate pieces for the collar and pocket buttons.

Fudgy Brownies

  1. In a medium saucepan heat and stir butter and unsweetened chocolate over low heat until smooth; set aside to cool. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8x2-inch baking pan with foil, leaving about 1 inch of the foil extending over the ends of pan. Grease foil; set pan aside.

  2. Stir the sugar into the cooled chocolate mixture. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating with a wooden spoon just until combined. Stir in vanilla. In a small bowl stir together the flour and baking soda. Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture; stir just until combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Remove brownies from pan, using the overlapping foil to lift brownies.

Creamy White Frosting

  1. In a large mixing bowl beat shortening, vanilla, and almond extract with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. Add 2 tablespoons of the milk. Gradually beat in remaining powdered sugar. Gradually add milk until frosting reaches a spreading consistency. Makes about 3 cups.

Chocolate Frosting

  1. In a medium saucepan stir together butter or margarine, unsweetened cocoa powder, and buttermilk. Cook and stir until boiling; remove from heat. Beat in powdered sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer on low speed until blended. Stir in walnuts.
