Savory Baked Pita Chips


Use this homemade pita chips recipes to scoop up hummus or any savory snack dip. These baked pita chips require just 12 minutes in the oven.

  • 2 6 inch pita bread rounds

  • 4 teaspoon olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • teaspoon chili powder

  • teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a large baking sheet; set aside. Split pita bread rounds in half horizontally; cut each half into six wedges (24 wedges total). Brush pita wedges with olive oil. In a custard cup combine garlic powder, salt, chili powder, and, if desired, cayenne pepper. Sprinkle garlic powder mixture over pita wedges. Place pita wedges on prepared baking sheet. Bake about 12 minutes or until golden brown and toasted.

Sweet Baked Pita Chips:

Prepare as directed, except omit garlic powder, salt, chili powder, and cayenne pepper; sprinkle oil-brushed pita wedges with 2 teaspoons packed brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.Nutrition Facts per serving: 88 cal., 3 g total fat (0 g sat. fat), 0 mg chol., 108 mg sodium, 13 g carb., 1 g dietary fiber, 2 g sugar, 2 g protein.
