Directions

  1. Divide chilled watermelon and cantaloupe among 4 dessert dishes. Stir sugar into vinegar until dissolved. Drizzle some of the vinegar mixture over each serving. Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper, if desired. Makes 4 side-dish servings.

Cut up fruit; cover and chill up to 12 hours before assembling.

To use ribbons of melon instead of cubes, slice cantaloupe or honeydew with a vegetable peeler.
