  • In a wok or medium saucepan combine water, rice, and salt. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Do not lift cover. Remove from heat. Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Oven Rice:

Prepare as directed above, except substitute 2-1/4 cups boiling water for the 2 cups water and combine the ingredients in a 1-quart casserole. cover and bake in a 350 degree F oven about 35 minutes or until rice is tender. Fluff rice with a fork after 20 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Microwave Rice:

Prepare as directed above, except combine the ingredients in a 2-quart microwave-safe casserole. Micro-cook, uncovered, on 100 percent power (high) about 6 minutes or until boiling. Stir, then cover. Cook for 5 minutes more; stir. Cook, covered, for 3 minutes more. Stir. Cover and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
