Quick Pizza Sauce

  • ½ cup chopped onion (1 medium)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano, crushed

  • ½ teaspoon dried basil, crushed

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper


  1. In a small saucepan cook onion and garlic in hot oil over medium heat about 5 minutes or until onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and crushed red pepper.

  2. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes or until sauce reaches desired consistency.
