This easy-to-make recipe uses mangoes and papaya but you can choose just about any fresh fruit. For convenience, prepare up to two hours before serving.
In a shallow dish mash 1 cup of the chopped mango with a potato masher. (Or, puree with a mini food chopper, food processor, or blender.)
In a medium bowl beat whipping cream, sugar, and nutmeg until cream is very stiff, but not curdled. Fold in mashed mango.
In individual 6- to 7-ounce glasses or dishes, layer whipped cream mixture and remaining 2 cups chopped mango. Serve immediately or cover and chill up to 2 hours before serving. Makes 6 servings.
