Added spinach to the peppers but the spinach didn't seem to add anything to the flavor. Took the dryness reviews to heart and poured on 1 cup cream/half and half with half teaspoon salt, quarter teaspoon white pepper and quarter teaspoon tabasco sauce for seasoning, and added a bit more cheese. Really, really tasty like that. Could probably drop the cream down to three quarters of a cup or even half cup.
Definitely missing seasonings & probably more cheese. Should have read reviews better. Swiss cheese probably better flavor. Very bland, added some chicken broth and took longer to cook than stated. Not sure I will make again or if I do, doctor recipe up.
This is a simple recipe with great flavor. I cooked it in a slow cooker and added salt and pepper to the potatoes. I also subbed slices of Swiss cheese. By slow cooking it, there was plenty of moisture. Super yummy and so easy to make.
I make this three ways. Saute all ingredients in EVOO and what ever herbs/spices I use, this adds a deeper flavor . Then I make a white sauce pour over and bake. I prepare like a pie using the potatoes as crust. Saute all else, add to dish. Make an egg scramble with your choice of milk and fresh herbs, pour over and bake. For vegan I use mushrooms to replace meat, dairy alternative. I might also add large beans. Actually, four. Add zuc and It. grn beans and stewed tomatoes. You can switch veggies and meats. create your own sauce. Or, use up those leftovers!! Have fun Enjoy!!raf
Could be good, but some kind of liquid is definitely missing from the ingredients. Prepared per the given recipe, it is very dry, potatoes are like cardboard, nothing is cooked. I mixed in a can of soup when reheating leftovers -- much better, but some broth might have worked too.
This looks good ! There are red tomatoes? on top that aren't listed in the recipe. Maybe it's the wrong photo or you may have forgotten the tomato garnish. Either way-I think I'll try it.
