In a large saucepan, cook bacon over medium-high heat about 3 minutes or until crisp. Add onion and cook for 3 minutes more. Stir in garlic; cook for 1 minute more.
Increase heat to high; add broth and bring to boiling. Stir in tortellini. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, according to package directions, adding the spinach for the last 3 minutes of cooking.
Season to taste with pepper. If desired, garnish each serving with Parmesan cheese. Makes 4 servings.
