Patriotic Mold

Directions

  1. Stir 1/2 cup boiling water into strawberry-flavored gelatin in a medium bowl until completely dissolved. Stir in 1 cup cold water. Place bowl of gelatin in a larger bowl of ice and water. Stir until partially set (the consistency of unbeaten egg whites), about 10 minutes. Pour into a 6-cup mold. Refrigerate about 45 minutes until set, but not firm.
  2. Meanwhile, stir 1 cup boiling water into the sparkling white grape-flavored gelatin until completely dissolved. Whisk in sour cream until smooth. Place bowl in a larger bowl of ice and water. Stir until partially set (the consistency of unbeaten egg whites), about 15 minutes. Carefully ladle white mixture over strawberry-flavored gelatin layer in mold. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until set, but not firm.
  3. Meanwhile, stir 1 1/2 cups boiling water into blueberry-flavored gelatin in a medium bowl. Stir in 1 cup cold water. Place bowl in a larger bowl of ice and water. Stir until partially set (the consistency of unbeaten egg whites), about 20 minutes. Carefully ladle over white layer in mold. Cover and refrigerate overnight, until firm. Unmold onto serving plate.
