Nutty Banana Liquado

Directions

  1. In a blender combine the first four ingredients (through agave syrup). Cover and blend until smooth. Gradually add ice through feed tube, while blending to desired consistency.
  2. Pour into glasses. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.

Strawberry-Mango Liquado:

Prepare as directed, except use 1 cup hulled fresh or frozen strawberries and 1 cup peeled, seeded, and chopped mango instead of the banana and almonds. Pour into glasses. Top with strawberry halves and/or mango slices.

Mint-Mandarin Orange Liquado:

Prepare as directed, except use two 11-oz. cans mandarin orange sections, drained, instead of the banana and almonds. Add 4 or 5 mint leaves, snipped, to the blended mixture; pulse by turning blender on and off several times until mint is mixed into liquado but not pureed. Pour into glasses and serve with additional fresh mint leaves.

To toast nuts, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread nuts in a shallow baking pan. Bake about 5 minutes or until lightly browned, shaking pan once or twice to avoid burning.
