  • ¼ cup kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika or 1/2 tablespoon dry red (such as Cabernet Sauvignon) or sweet white wine (such as Riesling)

  • Cubed watermelon


  1. In a small bowl stir together the salt and paprika or wine. Use immediately or store in an airtight container up to 6 months. (If storing salt with wine, spread on a plate and dry for 24 hours before placing in storage container.)

Vanilla Salt:

In a small bowl stir together 1/4 cup kosher salt, 1 tablespoon sugar, and the seeds from 1 vanilla bean.
