Learn about BHG's Editorial Process Published on December 10, 2020 Print Rate It Share Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Carson Downing Hands On Time: 15 mins Total Time: 40 mins Servings: 4 Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 1 pound lean ground beef or lamb 1 cup chopped onion 3 clove garlic, minced Salt and ground black pepper 1 15 ounce can no-salt-added tomato sauce 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon 8 ounce dried ziti pasta 1 ½ cup purchased alfredo sauce Chopped fresh oregano Directions In a large ovenproof skillet cook beef, onion, and garlic on medium-high 8 to 10 minutes or until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Season with ¼ tsp. kosher salt and ¼ tsp. ground black pepper. Stir in tomato sauce, l¼ cups wafer, the oregano, and cinnamon. Bring to boiling. Stir in ziti. Return to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 20 minutes or until ziti is tender, stirring occasionally. Preheat broiler. Once pasta is tender, spread Alfredo sauce evenly over top of mixture. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat 4 to 5 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and starts to brown, rotating skillet as needed for even browning. Top with additional oregano. Serves 4.
