Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or lamb

  • 1 cup chopped onion

  • 3 clove garlic, minced

  • Salt and ground black pepper

  • 1 15 ounce can no-salt-added tomato sauce

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 8 ounce dried ziti pasta

  • 1 ½ cup purchased alfredo sauce

  • Chopped fresh oregano

Directions

  1. In a large ovenproof skillet cook beef, onion, and garlic on medium-high 8 to 10 minutes or until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Season with ¼ tsp. kosher salt and ¼ tsp. ground black pepper.

  2. Stir in tomato sauce, l¼ cups wafer, the oregano, and cinnamon. Bring to boiling. Stir in ziti. Return to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 20 minutes or until ziti is tender, stirring occasionally.

  3. Preheat broiler. Once pasta is tender, spread Alfredo sauce evenly over top of mixture. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat 4 to 5 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and starts to brown, rotating skillet as needed for even browning. Top with additional oregano. Serves 4.
