  • 8 ounce chocolate-flavor candy coating, chopped

  • 4 ounce bittersweet chocolate, chopped

  • ½ cup chocolate-hazelnut spread

  • 2 ½ cup broken pretzel sticks (about 6 ounces)

  • 2 ½ cup chow mein noodles (about 5 ounces)

  • 1 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts

  • Sea salt flakes (optional)


  1. In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker combine candy coating, bittersweet chocolate, and hazelnut spread.

  2. Cover and cook on low for 1 to 1/2 hours. Stir until smooth. Stir in pretzel sticks, chow mein noodles, and hazelnuts.

  3. Drop candy by heaping spoonfuls onto two large baking sheets lined with waxed paper or foil. If desired, sprinkle with salt. Let stand 1 hour or until chocolate is set. If necessary, refrigerate haystacks for 30 minutes or until set. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
