Grilled Donuts

Directions

  1. Heat charcoal or gas grill to medium-low. Coat doughnuts with cooking spray. Grill doughnuts, covered, until lightly browned, 30 seconds to 1 minute per side. Watch closely to avoid burning. Serve grilled doughnuts with Mint Julep Dip and Strawberry Basil Dip.

Mint Julep Dip

Directions

  1. In a small bowl combine sugar and mint leaves. Using a wooden spoon mash mint and sugar until fragrant, 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  2. In a blender container or food processor combine sugar mixture, cream cheese, milk, and bourbon. Cover; blend or process until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides as necessary. Serve immediately.

The dips are divine! I make mine separate using faux cream chez! I serve them with my simpler cakes, pound/angel food. The only time I grill a glazed donut is when my cousin is coming, they are the only sweet baked/fried/grilled he eats, vanilla is his only ice cream, he loves grilled pineapple! So... I split and grilled a donut beside a slice of pineapple, made him a grilled glazed donut vanilla ice cream grilled pineapple sandwich. He Loved it!!! When others decided to try it too, they had open face as I had planned to send the remaining donuts home with my cousin. Others drizzled the dips over their open faces!! Everyone went home happy!! I will continue to make the dips, have shared the recipes!raf
