Ingredient Checklist

Instructions Checklist
  • Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, extending foil over edges. Lightly butter foil.

  • In a 6- to 8-qt. heavy Dutch oven melt 1/3 cup butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows. Cook and stir until melted and smooth. Stir in marshmallow creme, vanilla, and salt. Remove from heat. Remove 1 cup of the marshmallow mixture; set aside. Add cereal to remaining marshmallow mixture in Dutch oven, stirring gently to coat.

  • Transfer cereal mixture to prepared pan. Using a buttered spatula or buttered waxed paper, press mixture firmly into pan. Spread 1 cup reserved marshmallow mixture over top and sprinkle with jimmies. Top with a sheet of waxed paper and a sheet of foil. Weight mixture down by placing a second 13x9-inch pan on top of foil and adding several unopened cans of food to top pan. Let stand overnight.

  • Remove pan, foil, and waxed paper. Using edges of foil liner, lift out uncut bars. Using a buttered long knife, cut into bars. Decorate with frosting to look like gifts.
