Heat over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place a fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl. Carefully strain the cider mixture through the sieve. Discard allspice. Carefully pour the warm cider mixture into eight heatproof mugs. If desired, garnish with apple rings and/or mint sprigs. Serve warm.
