Five-spice powder makes these shredded pork sandwiches extra tasty. The sandwiches are dipped into the flavorful cooking juices, similar to French dip sandwiches.

Seriously? Why would you even choose to look at a recipe that has ingredients you hate and then rate it at all? I love this recipe and have made it for years. I may be biased because I'm a past editor for BH&G, but really this is so good! I double the ingredients, add more 5 spice, and make an "Asian" slaw with sesame oil , mayo, and cayenne pepper. So good and gets rave reviews by all!

Are there any other options to the SOY & HOISIN - Don't like either one.  Also, for the Five-Spice Seasoning, what could I use instead of fennel??  Dislike that, as well!!
