These Greek-inspired beef and lamb burgers are the perfect grilled burger option to try when you're ready for something a little more unique than an American cheese-topped patty. Serve these pita burgers with a side of hummus and veggie sticks.
In a large bowl combine cornmeal, the 2 tablespoons milk, the onion, garlic, salt, oregano, and lemon-pepper seasoning. Add lamb and beef; mix well. Shape meat mixture into eight 1/4-inch-thick patties.
In a small bowl combine feta cheese and the 1 tablespoon milk. Spoon cheese mixture evenly onto centers of four patties. Top with the remaining patties; press edges to seal. Sprinkle cumin and cayenne pepper evenly on patties.
For a charcoal grill, grill patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 12 to 16 minutes or until done (160 degrees F), turning once halfway through grilling. (For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place patties on grill rack over heat. Cover; grill as directed.)
