Earl Grey Hot Buttered Rum

The spiced butter in this hot rum cocktail elevates the usual hot buttered rum to new seasonal flavor heights. The butter has pumpkin pie spice stirred in for even more coziness.

  • ½ cup boiling water

  • 2 teaspoon packed brown sugar

  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag

  • 2 tablespoon (1 oz.) dark rum

  • 1 ½ teaspoon Spiced Butter


  1. In a mug stir together boiling water and brown sugar until sugar dissolves. Add tea bag; steep 5 minutes. Remove and discard tea bag. Add rum. Top with Spiced Butter.

Spiced Butter

In a small bowl combine 1/2 cup softened butter and 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice. Roll into a log and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill until firm.
