Youre In Business! Lemonade
- Grip one lemon half firmly; press and twist onto lemon reamer until all juice is released. Repeat with remaining lemon halves. Discard empty halves. If necessary, strain juice through strainer to remove lemon seeds. You should have about 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- In a large jar or pitcher combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, and sugar. Stir vigorously until sugar is just dissolved. Add assorted fruits. Ladle immediately into individual disposable cups filled with ice cubes, or chill several hours. Makes 6 cups, enough to serve about 12 customers.
- You will need an adult helper and an adults permission to go into business.

Helpful parent tips to keep things sweet:
Choose medium-size lemons that small hands can hold and press onto a lemon reamer or citrus juicer.
Supervise the preparation: Precut the lemons and fruit yourself, and let the kids help with the mixing and stirring.
Encourage older kids to help the younger ones when pouring and straining to remove the seeds from the lemon juice.
Have plenty of change on hand from your childs piggy bank. You may also need to take a trip to the bank to fund the cash register.
Help with choosing a location, stand construction, sign hanging, and even sales. Dont leave the kids alone.
