When it's cold and damp outside, greet guests with the enticing aroma of a spiced cocktail simmering in a slow cooker. On a low heat setting, the hot beverage will stay warm a couple of hours so guests can help themselves to refills.
In a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker combine vegetable juice, halved celery stalk, sugar substitute, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce.
Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Discard celery. Ladle beverage into cups. If desired, garnish each serving with a celery stick. Keep on low up to 1 to 2 hours. Makes 8 (6-ounce) servings.
