  • Melt butter; stir in sugar. Add crushed crackers; toss to mix well. Spread evenly into a 9-inch pie plate. Press onto bottom and sides to form a firm, even crust. Chill about 1 hour or until firm. (Or, bake in a 375 degree F oven for 4 to 5 minutes or until edge is lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack before filling.)

Chocolate Wafer Crust:

Prepare as above, except omit sugar and substitute 1-1/2 cups finely crushed chocolate wafers (about 25) for the crushed graham crackers. Do not bake.

Gingersnap Crust:

Prepare as above, except omit the sugar and substitute 1-1/4 cups finely crushed gingersnaps (20 to 22) for the crushed graham crackers.

Vanilla Wafer Crust:

Prepare as above, except omit sugar and substitute 1-1/2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers (about 44 wafers) for the crushed graham crackers.
