Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray

  • 4 ¾ cup water

  • 1 ½ cup steel-cut oats

  • cup pure maple syrup

  • cup golden raisins

  • cup dried cranberries

  • cup chopped dried pears

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or Chinese five-spice powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Milk (optional)

Directions

  1. Lightly coat the inside of a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In prepared slow cooker combine the water, oats, syrup, raisins, cranberries, pears, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.

  2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 7 hours. If desired, serve with milk.
