Here's a homemade lime margarita that's perfect for pairing with any Mexican meal--or simply great happy hour conversation with friends! A combination of tequila and orange liqueur makes these Classic Margaritas full of good spirit(s).




  • In a pitcher combine Triple Sec, tequila, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Chill mixture until ready to serve.

  • Place salt on a small plate. Rub rims of eight glasses with one of the lime wedges. Dip rims of glasses in salt to coat.

  • Place ice cubes in salt-rimmed glasses. Pour tequila mixture over ice cubes. Garnish with remaining lime wedges.

A classic margarita would not have any added sugar. Leave the sugar out and then you have a classic margarita.

In frozen food section of grocery, get 1 can frozen Limeade and 1 can frozen OJ.  Make sure you have either white or brown sugar or buy that too.Make your juices according to directions, but use less water to make it a little stronger.In a 2 or 3 qt soup pot, boil 2 Cups water.  Slowly stir in 2 Cups white or brown sugar. Stir until thicker consistency, similar to a pancake syrup.Put 1 Cup ice into a blender.  Add 2 cups Limeade, and 1/2 Cup OJ.  Add 1/3 Cup sugar syrup.  Put cover on and blend.Taste testing is fun!  Adjust the ingredients to your taste and just have fun!  Baldwin Bear
