  • Place apple cider in a 6-quart pot (about 9 1/2 inches across and 5 inches deep). Bring to boiling over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-hi. Boil gently, uncovered, about 35 minutes or until syrupy and reduced to about 1/2 cup. Mixture will start to foam near the end of cooking, so watch carefully once that begins. Cool (mixture will thicken as it cools). Chill up to 1 week.
