  • Discard fat in roasting pan. Arrange potatoes, carrots, and apples around chicken in pan. Spoon glaze over chicken, vegetables, and apples. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes more or until meat thermometer registers 180 degree F. At this time, drumsticks move easily in their sockets and chicken is no longer pink. Remove chicken from oven; cover and let stand 10 minutes before carving. Makes 6 servings.

I have been looking for this recipe for YEARS. My mom had it in an old cookbook of hers, but she has been gone for several years. And before that, she couldn't remember the place she had gotten the recipe out of. There were some minor changes she had made for us as kids that had a huge impact on the taste of this dish. She didn't add the onions (little brother detested them) and she didn't put in the red pepper flakes. Now that I have found this again I am saving it to multiple places so I don't lose it again. I love the recipe.

I NEVER write reviews, so this must be that important...haha! I have been making this recipe for my family for decades. It is probably THE most memorable dish for my now adult children and they all wanted the recipe! It is so SCRUMPTIOUS that you could totally over indulge if you're not careful. Whoever put this together....you.are.amazing... THANK YOU!!

This is, hands down, the tastiest chicken recipe that I have EVER made. Everybody loves it, and it's unusual enough that people are amazed. Yet, it's extremely simple to make, and pretty much idiot-proof (which is what I needed when I was learning to cook).
