As far as slow cooker dips go, this rich recipe is one of our favorites. Just like eating a cheeseburger, this recipe is slow cooker party food at its finest.

  • In a large skillet cook the first three ingredients (through garlic) over medium-high heat until meat is browned. Drain off fat.

  • In a 1 1/2- or 2-quart slow cooker combine meat mixture and the next five ingredients (through Worcestershire sauce). Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If needed, stir in milk to reach desired consistency.

  • Serve immediately or keep warm, covered, on warm for up to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. If desired, top with pickle slices. Serve with dippers.
