  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Tear bread into bite-size pieces. Place in a greased 2-quart square baking dish. In a medium bowl combine eggs, half and half, sugar, orange peel, and vanilla. Pour over bread in baking dish. Bake, uncovered, about 45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla yogurt, if desired. Makes 6 servings.

I've been making this for several years now since I first found the recipe in the magazine.  Its quick and easy, but more importantly so delicious.  My family loves it.  Don't skip the orange zest, it gives it an extra bit of flavor that makes it special.  We like to drizzle a little maple syrup on it.
