Caramel Apple Bars

Directions

  1. Line an 8x8x2-inch baking pan with foil, extending the foil over edges of pan. Butter foil; set pan aside.
  2. In a large heavy saucepan cook and stir half of the caramels and the 2 tablespoons butter over medium-low heat just until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows and cinnamon until marshmallows are melted. Add cereal and dried apples, stirring gently to coat. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking pan. Press mixture very firmly and evenly into pan.
  3. In a medium microwave-safe bowl microwave the remaining caramels and the milk on 100% power (high) for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until mixture is smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Spoon caramel mixture over cereal mixture. In a small microwave-safe bowl microwave white baking chocolate on high for 30 to 60 seconds or until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Drizzle melted white chocolate over caramel mixture. Let stand about 1 hour or until set. Using the edges of the foil, lift uncut bars out of pan. Cut into bars.

To Store:

Place bars in a single layer in an airtight container; cover. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
