Cajun-Flavor Catfish


A fun and flavorful twist on a traditional seafood meal, our Cajun-Flavor Catfish creates a jam packed cajun spice with the perfect blend of oregano, red pepper and cumin for any freshly prepared catfish fillet.

  • 4 fresh or frozen catfish filets (approximately 8 oz. each)

  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano, crushed

  • 2 - 3 teaspoon seasoned salt

  • 2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin


  1. Thaw fish, if frozen. Rinse fish; pat dry with paper towels.

  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. For Cajun seasoning, stir together black pepper, oregano, seasoned salt, onion powder, crushed red pepper, chili powder, and cumin. Set aside 1 tablespoon of the seasoning. (Store remaining seasoning in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month; use on fish or pork.)

  3. Coat both sides of the fish fillets with the reserved 1 tablespoon seasoning. Arrange fish in a single layer in a greased baking dish.

  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork, turning once halfway through baking.
