Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup cold butter, cut up

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 cup dark-color corn syrup

  • 3 eggs

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoon bourbon

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

  • 1 12 ounce pkg. semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, extending foil over edges. Butter foil.

  2. For crust, in a food processor combine flour, granulated sugar, and 1/2 tsp. of the salt. Pulse to combine. Add cold butter; pulse until crumbly. Press evenly into the prepared pan. Bake about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

  3. For filling, in a large bowl whisk together brown sugar and corn syrup. Add eggs, melted butter, bourbon, vanilla, and the remaining 1/4 tsp. salt. Whisk to combine. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour over hot crust.

  4. Bake about 30 minutes or until evenly browned and bubbly across the surface and center appears set. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Use foil to lift out uncut bars. Cut into bars.
